Hello! I have been looking into my ancestry, and had enough information from my grandparents to know that Elizabeth Scott is my 3rd great-grandmother, so following your research, John Wilson Scott would be my 5th great-grandfather. So happy to have found this site! |

John Wilson Scott is my 4x great-grandfather. I am descended through his son Elder Martin Scott, who along with several others of the Scott family moved to Daviess County, MO, in 1855. Several were involved in beginning a congregation, which became known as the Old Scotland Church of Christ, and are buried in the adjoining cemetery. I grew up attending this congregation, and have always had a strong interest in Scott family history because of this shared spiritual heritage. |

Hi Matt, your website has been very informative, and I thank you for sharing all your hard research with us. My great grandmother was Osta Beatrice TROXEL Williams, and her mother and father was Ira Daniel Troxel, and Mary Angeline THOMAS Troxel. Ira\'s parents were Frederick Storm Troxel and Isabel Jane SCOTT Troxel which I believe were my 3rd great grandparents. Would it be possible to use some of the pictures you posted on your site with your permission to use them on my Heritage and Ancestory family tree sites. Please feel free to e-mail your response. |

I sent you the pictures of John B. Scott and Thomas Crabtree (via LeRoy Library) that were used on the mural you inquired about. I\'m not a member of the Scott family. That being said, Thomas Crabtree is my husband\'s 3rd Great Grandfather and was a very close friend of John B Scott as well as brother\'s in law. They both married Davis sisters, they traded together with the Sac and Fox Indians and migrated to LeRoy where they both lived out the rest of their lives. Thomas Crabtree was a co founder of LeRoy along with John B Scott (after buying out Troxel and Burr). Frederick Troxel and Isabel Scott were the first white settlers in what is now Coffey County. They had a cabin about 2-3 miles south of what is now present day LeRoy before they moved on to Missouri. I am just starting to look through your site to see if you have any information or photos regarding Thomas Crabtree. I am very impressed with what I have seen so far of your website! |
