Now back in Northern Ireland.

I was a chemistry /science teacher in WHS -1976-1980. Had a great time with teachers such as George Bowden, Mr & Mrs Berry, Jim Frusher and others. Many pupils - great characters - return to mind after browsing WHS photo archive - Barry Alderdice and Simon Waddington ( the golfer), Wendy Turnbull and Veronica Chambers ( her mother was a teacher in WHS), Kevin Wrigglesworth and Colin Gardiner ( the hammer thrower) who was also a member of the staff student basketball team. Sad to see so many staff have passed away (RIP). I often wonder where my former 'A' level chemistry students went on to - hopefully Nobel Prize winners. And Kath Darbyshire our laboratory technician - lovely lady. I took early retirement - still doing a 'little' work in the field of education but I make sure it doesn't interfere with my golf.

Serious nostalgia attack here - I am the HK as in 2HK, 3HK. Seeing the form pictures is a bit scary - rather not think about how old we all are. Left teaching in 1985, never to return but can still remember the form list with enormous affection. Hope all are well (and hi to Caroline who posted below). Great job by the webmaster and thanks to Ray for posting my two form pictures, thankfully not including the teacher.

I really enjoyed looking through all the old snaps, which I hadn't seen since I was at school. Attended WHS between 1981-86. I think the first year form was 1TD, then 2 HK, 3 HK .... from then on.
It would be lovely to hear from anyone from the same class/year between those years.

Wetherby originally! Now live in the Midlands.

It's been a while since I last visited the website, but I've been prompted to come back again due to the unexpected death of my brother David Myers. I would be grateful Steve if you could message your WHS contacts to inform them about this sad news. He was 48 and was at WHS from 1973 to 1975 when he left and went to Scarborough College. He died from serious head injuries after a fall on Monday 7th March 2011. His funeral will take place at Harrogate Crematorium on Friday 18th March 2011 at 1.00p.m. and there will be a gathering at the Yorkshire Hotel in Harrogate following the service to celebrate his life.
