I am the great-great-greatgranddaughter of Frankie Reed, who may have been born in either Virginia or Alabama. She was the mother of my great-greatgrandmother Patsey Rose Reed(1832-1923) who married John Reed(1831-1865?). Patsey was born in Giles County, Tennessee. The only information I have on John Reed is his Civil War Record and 1890 Veteran's Schedule. They had seven children Caledonia Reed Dobbins, Lee Reed, James Reed, General George Reed, Louisa Reed Brown, John R Reed, Lucy Reed Anderson Harney. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me. I still have the email from 2002 when I first contacted you. The above names I did not have then. I am the sixth generation of direct descendent of American Slaves. I would like to extend an invitation for you to visit my tree on Ancestry.com & My Heritage.com. Once again thank you and GOD Bless you. |

Ran across this site about 4 yrs ago, I believe. Tracing my "Milam" roots via Marshall County, Mississippi. Did not think it relevant to my line until I tracked a distant cousin's line to G-g-grandfather Wade Milam. Now, I am back to this site hoping to find anything pertaining to my G-g-grandfather Martin Milam. I do have a portrait of him from the granddaughter of his baby daughter of 21 kids by at least 5 mothers. Appears totally "mulatto", but can't tell if Caucasian or Indian, but my Grandmother and his baby daughter look Indian. Anyway, I've enjoyed revisiting your page. AWESOME |

I too have had my family members complete DNA test to determine ancestry. My test indicated I share ancestry with Tikar, Mafa and Hide of Cameroon. Going to Cameroon in December. Thanks for the info on the Tikar people. My earliest identified family members are from Alabama and Arkansas. Other DNA test of the branches of the family share ancestry with Mbenzele of Cameroon, Bamileke of Cameroon, Akan of Ghana and Eastern Bantu of South Africa. One test identified the European branch of the family. My brother-in law learned he was Han Chinese. |

I stumbled across your site when searching for the death index file on Hulen Newt Kennedy. Hulen was married to my mother-in-law Rena V. Moore. The depth and breathe of your information is mind boggling. I have been working on recording my immediate family history before it is lost forever. I was adding info to my gen. page about my husband Jerry Moore, and ran across Hulen's name in an internet search. The info you have provided has helped my husband tremendously. He is unsure who his father is and cannot seem to find anyone who actually knows the truth. Newt was his step-father for a number of years. His mother separated from Newt and moved the family north, thereby ending contact with the Kennedy side of the family. |

I am Fulani of Nothern Cameroun. Originally from Lainde, Garoua, Cameroun. I am a medical doctor here in NYC. I was amazed to read your article. It is beautifully writen and accurate! I think we can start by organizing people of Fulani origine in USA. What do you think of that idea? Maybe we can encourage more AA to do the DNA test. Let me know. |
