I grew up in Nanticoke, PA. Started high school in 1966. At that time got into watching The Monkees on TV. I was crazy over them! Peter was my favorite. I even had my hair cut like his! I know, what a crazy thing to do. Had all the teen magazines and cut out all the Monkee pictures and started a scrap book. I still have the first 5 Monkee albums.
I remember my friends and I making love bead necklaces and lockets with pictures in them. Mine was Peter, my friends was Davy.
At the beginning of high school my father died. The Monkees helped me through that bad time. Their show and music brought happiness back into my life.
Now I am 56 and retired and with all my free time now I seem to be remembering back to my childhood. Just bought a CD with all the Monkee hits on it.
Would love to hear from anyone who is around my age and loves to reminisce about their younger years.
What I would love the most is to see The Monkees now in concert with my friends from my youth. Relive the whole thing. We all never realized back then that those would be the happiest times of our lives.

I started collecting when I was 13. 40 something years ago. I have a tupperware tub filled with all kinds of stuff. Trading cards, boxes the trading cards came in. Davy Jones fan club stuf...comic books. It has been a long time since I have gotten in my tub. If interested I could send you pics of everything.

Came to your site to see if you have, a trinket box (porcelain) heart shaped with The Monkees on the top, take the lid off and The Monkees famous guitar image is stamped on the bottom inside the box, I have found one at our local antique shop. Tried e-bay, husband wanted me to see if it is worth anything. Have you seen anything of this nature? Thanks for any help you can give me. Brenda

I'm a first generation fan as well, though I started collecting earlier than you. The first album I ever bought was "Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones, Ltd" I also saw the '94 reunion show, and took my daughter to the 30th Anniversary show. Both had a great time, though that tour was scaled way down from the 25th Anniversary show.

I loved them then and I love them now. Mike was and is still my fav. Then probally Peter and then Mickey (great voice) and then of course the ever populair Davey. I still listen to their music on a regular basis and now my three year old granddaughter does too. It is still great. Love the site.

I never missed their TV show when it came on at 6:30 on Monday nights. I loved them more than the Beatles. I have all of their albums and 45's. I had their pictures from the teen magazines all over my bedroom walls. Davy was my favorite. I would daydream about him all the time.

Today is the 28th of Sept 2006 I am 45 years "old" young say that five times fast.Head was made in 1967 hard to believe time has flown so fast I was 6 yrs old and on that date I was probably in Portsmouth New Hampshire or Plattsburg New York state or 6 to 12,000 miles away in the country of Izmir Turkey. Looking at how I remember it I was probably in New Hampshire I watched alot of the real rated "G" movies made back in the 60's and 70's when I lived on PEASE Air Force base NH e.g "On Any Sunday"-"Chitty Bang Bang"-"Moon Zero 2"-"Valley of Gawangi" with James Franciscus-"Where Angels Go Trouble Follows"-"Captain Nemo and the underwater city" (TCM actually found it for me and announced my name and played it for me). Great site you have I hope "THE" The Monkees read it to see how beloved they are after all these years by old guys like me and a new generation that will make sure they will never be forgotten. It sure would be nice to meet them. Do you think they might visit Columbia SC? I'd sure like my 3 yr old to meet them. Anyway a old man can dream. Peace-Love & Soul life was groovy then and it's still Peachy Keen now-SOLID!!!

i have been listening to the monkees on and off for the last 25 years. im 31 so was too young first time round. am currently watching all the shows again on DVD. they are still as funny as when i watched them as a child. great site keep up the good work!!!!!

He is our favorite Monkee and we love Davy as well but my son is wanting drums so he can learn to play like Micky .

I live near davy jones home in beavertown Pa.About 3 1/2 hours drive from my home.Up near state collage area!Go fishing up that way and seen davy at a mini market getting gas.He looked at me and I looked at him and smiled at each other and want are ways.
