Re: Looking for 5g-grandf. Leonard Cochel

Hi Donald,

I don't have any info re. parents of Leonard - but I am wondering if Leonard could possibly be the father of 'my' John Cochell, born June 12, 1792 (he married Mary McCloskey/McClauckey c1820-1827 in PA). It is thought he was born in Berks County, but some of his children were born in Mifflin County in 1820's range. I cannot locate any Cochells (or similar spelling) in Berks County and have recently started the search in Mifflin County, where I found Leonard and (I assume) his son Leonard Jr. in 1810 census there. Would the will papers you have of Leonard mention a John Cochell as a son?

Thank you very much for any help you can offer. If John is of this family, I am more than willing to share what info I have on his line - his family migrated to White County, Indiana about 1846.

Thanks,

Diane McInnes
