Hi Everyone,
We are struggling to keep our committee, many reasons, life is busy, families are growing and parents are back to work.
What do other library's charge their committee for a membership fee? We are $30.00 a year, which is the same for our volunteer. We are thinking of reducing this, maybe another incentive to join the committee. Anyone know the legal view on this?
We can't be paid to be on committee but having a cheaper membership would make it a nicer perk for all the time we do. Help, suggestions please.
Re: Committee Membership Fee- How much is too little?
hi,
our library has also had this discussion as we have committee members that no longer use the library and it seems there is something in the constitution that says committee members cannot benefit by being on committee.
I haven't read the constitution myself but maybe the federation could help you out.
Re: Committee Membership Fee- How much is too little?
Hi there. We pay $25 as a Committee Member. Partly due to the fact we open on a Tuesday night during the summer and the Committee are rostered for these nights.
