The family of Leonard “Zeno” Tomashefski is saddened to announce his passing on June 18, 2008. Zeno, as he was known to us all, served aboard USS Quincy CA-71 from 1943 to 1945. He was a member of the seventh division onboard.
He was extremely proud of his service time on the Quincy, and spoke of it often.
Thanks to this fantastic website, we were able to put together a replacement for his lost Odyssey of the Quincy book for a Christmas present 5 years ago. He so enjoyed it, along with a USS Quincy hat we found online.
If you knew him or have any memories to share, we would love to here them. A memorial service will be held on July 12, 2008 in his hometown of Catawissa, Pa.
He will be greatly missed by us all.
