I live in the Tampa, FL area...and 5 years ago, there was a sports shop on every other corner. Has the hobby died? I can't find a single shop, carrying supplies...or with any desire to buy autographed items.
I'd love some input regarding your opinions.
Hi David - I agree that the world has really changed in this regard. You'll still find sport and hobby shops, but for the most part the business has migrated online. I do think that the overall memorabilia market remains very healthy with record prices and lots of trading. You might miss the charm of the brick and mortar shop experience, but you can certainly get the supplies you need, and buy or sell collectibles, readily online. If you're interested in getting some face-to-face time with some dealers, maybe you should keep your eyes open for a local show.
