To purchase an 1859 Indian Head Cent in XF for $75. So far a few dealers have ask me if I am on drugs! Is this the correct price and the dealers just want to make a nice profit?
Hi Tom and thanks for writing. $75 for an 1859 Indian in XF condition is a very reasonable price. You will certainly find people charging more. Especially full-time professional dealers and extra-especially if the coins are third-party graded and slabbed. The prices here are intended to provide a realistic value for realistic transactions. If you shop around - or do some negotiating - I'm confident you can get yourself a very nice 1859 for $75 or maybe even a little less.
