I'm trying to get information on my grandmother, Mary Francis (Davis) Townsend. She was supposedly a full blooded Seminole Indian. She was born in 1871 and died Sept. 13th, 1924.
Her original husband was Mr. Davis, their son was Andrew Jackson Davis, who was born in March 23rd 1898. He was my father. They would have lived in the Cross City area around 1900. That is when Mr. Townsend found my grandmother and her son (my father) living in a lean-to in Cross City. Mr. Townsend married her sometime thereafter. She then became Mary Francis Townsend.
I would like to see if I can find documentation that proves she was a full blooded Seminole Indian. Can you help?
