Any information concerning James Edwin Gresham, who served as Seminole Tribal Attorney from 1910-1914 would be welcome. He was my mother-in-law's adoptive father. Born c. 1873. Died in Texas c. 1934.
I think his wife at the time was Alice Ferguson Gresham, but that's not confirmed.
Angie Debo's book mentions him favorably as a litigator who put away some grafters and succeeded in getting some land back for certain individual Seminoles.
He was living in McAlester in 1905, presumably assisting in the Thirty Thousand case.
Anything at all? Stories? Dates? Wins? Losses? Friends? Enemies? Children? Who he helped? Who he didn't help?
