Tim I just saw Vanilla Fudge, missed you but I flashed back to my first concert. Wichita Kansas I'm in 9th grade. You guys are playing the Cotillion. Year is around 1967. You play a afternoon show and a night show. I beg my sister to take a friend and myself. I was a bass player even at that youg age. She takes to the 3:00 pm show. I am hooked on Bogart & Appice, bread and butter, ham and eggs, sonny and cher, will you get it. Flash forward. I am in a country band makin a meager living but hey I'm playing 5 to 7 nights a week. Guess whos coming to Wichita. CATCUS opening up for some band called Alice Cooper. Who the **** is that. Who cares we are there for Cactus. Let me swim in your ocean oh yeah.
Now Cactus announces they are looking for a place to play a free concert. Gormelys groove. It worked. Kansas played after you were done. Most people did not stick around. Back then Kansas played mostly Zappa heard that done that.
