We don't mean the bathroom...Richard says recording of the new CD, tentatively titled "My Own Best Enemy," is complete. "The last bit of recording was last week in Nashville when Keith Urban was kind enough to come in and play and sing. We're looking to release a single early in the year with the album to follow in early April. Then I'll probably start touring. The trick will be how to tour extensively without compromising my time with my kids, which is far more important to me. I may have to invent a new way to do the road thing. But I really need to get out there and play all these new songs.
The album was produced by Richard and David Cole, and will feature 12 new songs. "I wrote all music and lyrics this time except for one song that Fee Waybill contributed lyrics to. I'm very proud of this collection of songs, and I think it's a very accurate representation of where I'm at creatively right now. I like that I've been influenced over the years by R&B and country music on my albums, but this one, if anything, is a return to guitar based rock the way I started years ago. It feels right to me."

The CD will be released by EMI Manhattan Records, the label that released Richard's first 2 albums.
