1966-1967
I was stationed at JI (USAF) from Feb 1966 to Feb 1967. I worked at the JOC Building in communications (30670) Crypto. I ran the BX electronics repair shop and was a projectionist at the base theater. "How the West was Won", "How to Stuff a Wild Bikini", "Beach Blanket Bingo" to name a few of the more notable movies I remember. I would get film in on Sunday (I think) via North West to Kwaj. I was supposed to only run one film for two nights, but I ran a double-feature on Saturday night. Played guitars at the NCO club sometimes, too. Wednesday was Prime Rib and Saturday was Steak Night. We had one of the few trucks on the island - a 6X6! Ha. Mostly just rode bicycles. Worked at North Island on long haul radios, too. Anyone remember?
