Re: JI stories wanted

I was on JI from Dec 90 to Mar 95. I worked as an instrument at the plant. Though working out there at times could be a pain, the rest of the time was a vacation. My dad Ulis Taylor worked out there for a couple of years before I arrived. When leaving home to go to JI he told me three things while talking to me and my wife about JI. Of course, having said this in front of my wife explains #2.)
1.) It never rains....WRONG...it was raining the day I got off of the Air Micronesia flight,
2.) No pretty women out there....WRONG AGAIN....the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were in the lobby waiting to get on the plane I arrived on,
3.) THe food is great.... OK It was great in the main chow hall, Dad obviously never ate at the plant chow hall during the night shift...

I have fond memories of all my friends that I met on JI from both sides of the island. Other than the job, I think the fondest memories are all the great bowlers I met in the bowling alley, My firends I threw horseshoes with at the Manila Machine, and my Favorite memory is "THE 414 BREEZEWAY BAND"

FOr those of you who remember, the band was made up of several individuals from the plant.
Marc Wiggins, lead guitar
Larry LaRiveria, Bass Guitar and Vocals
Tom Bunting, Guitar and Vocals
Les Weeks. Drims (actually cardboard boxes, but if you were blind you would have never known)
and
Myself, Dobro, Steel Guitar, Guitar, and Vocals

I wish we had the technology back then that we have now. I would sure like some video, pictures, and recordings of the shows we did at the Tiki Lounge.

Take care everybody, and thanks for all the memories.
Mark (YoSam) Taylor
