Replying to:

Howdy Lalo, Mike and Rob-

I hadn't checked this site in a long time, but Mike you totally caught me offguard with those references.

Myself and Gene Embert started the Numerous Alcoholics! Gene made red shirts that had a softball in a beer mug on the front. I played first base and sucked, but whatever. I cut my knees up so bad on that coral-infested infield, I had to get my wounds scrubbed out with a plastic brush a coupla different times.

I remember everyone of those names you dropped there man, except Bordner. Amiel 'Jack' Jackson was in my squad at CASD, he was from the southside of Chicago. I gave Shizzymac that nickname if you can believe that, his real name was Shane. Tharp was a great baseball player, Joe Bev was a total hillbilly with an insane arm in the outfield. I used to play poker with Brian 'Fat Daddy' Maultsby and all the rest of those guys. We played in my room mostly, and we all carved into my poker table with our knives. I wonder if you saw it.

Reichert came to visit me at Fort Campbell, I tried to get him transferred there. I don't know if you remember him, but Brian Toomey got stationed at Campbell near me. Chris Roush came to see me a couple times too. All those guys were CASD.

Wow. Hopefully somebody will google some of these names and get in contact somehow. If somebody remembers my name but not my face, I was tall and thin (at first)and drank Mickeys by the boatload.

I sure miss that place and my boys, nothing but good times do I remember. Playing spades in the cold room, laying down on the track while jets flew right over us, watching sharks frenzy at the shark chute, cooking steaks at the Waikiki, late-night meals down-range, playing poker all-night and having my alarm go off for PT formation! I guess it was tough out in the middle of nowhere, but I couldn't remember through all the suds!

Other names I'll throw out there-
Beamer worked in the motorpool. Mike 'The Love Musha' Derusha, Kevin Ahern, Brad 'Flurry' Turlington, Lloyd Kelly, Jaquez, Bowen, Boden, Jake Sandlin, Steve Murai, Darcy Ebert, Sgt. Bobby Love. Cpt. Rose (who got me an NBCNCO job at Campbell, and last but not least Pat Garrett from Las Vegas. There were many more but I can't remember them all. We were all CASD. SFC V-something was my platoon sergeant when I left, and he was a total brainwashed looney. I heard he got booted for bein' nutzo!

I hope all is well with you all. Take it ez and good luck!

Josh Terrell
