Just missed you! I arrived at The Rock in February '67 and also worked in the JOC (30650 at the time, retired much later as a 30690). I think Jim Duncan overlapped the time we were there as did Fred Porter, as well.
As I decided to re-up beyond my then-first enlistment, I volunteered for VietNam from JI, picking my time poorly as I arrived in Tan Son Nhut late Feb '68. 
From the 'Nam I was drafted for instructor duty at the Crypto School on LAFB, spending two long controlled tours there and time at the Crypto Depot at Kelly before my retirement.
Still have my Watercraft Operator's License Johnston Atoll, authorizing me to "...operate small boats within the prescribed boundaries of Johnston Atoll..."
Shame we couldn't have cameras there, at the time.
