WELCOME TO CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM

The power of perfect reasoning is essential to know.

The one true religion

A discriminating intellect is that in which knowledge based only on words, real knowledge and ordinary knowledge based on sense perception or reasoning are present in a mixed state and the mind alternates between them.

"When the time of destruction is at hand the intellect becomes perverted." Vridha Chan. 16:17.
Topic of discussion
Five Tests of true religion - Feb 08, 2002
  1. It (revelation) must exist in its entirety from the very beginning of creation for all of mankind, and not over a long period of time after.
Oppose - It is unjust of Yahwe, Allah and Christ, to deprive millions born before the revelation of the Ten Commandments, the Q'uran, and the New Testament of His 'divine wisdom'. An injustice which cannot be the work of a Just, Compassionate and Merciful God.
  2. It must conform with (immutable) Natural laws
  3. Oppose - The cause of the physical body is the reproductive element - any other method as man was created from dust or blood-clot and all other miracles of God and Prophets are a breach to this law.
  4. It must be in harmony with reasoning.
Oppose - Incest which results in mental and physical infirmities, is an immoral action and it had to be the same also in the beginning (creation of one man and one woman).
  5. It must be in harmony with science.
Oppose - Modern science has proven creation to be more than 6,000 years old, the earth is spherical and it rotates and revolves, contradictions to the Torah, Bible and Q'uran.
  6. Its truth must be confirmed by four evidences :-
  • Direct Cognition - Not all that is known by perception can be true.
  • Inferences - God is eternal therefore we can infer that there were past creations and as well as there will be future ones.
  • Testimony - The testimonies of Rishis, sages and seers of the Vedas (altruistic teachers are all in harmony with each other.
  • History - There are many books (Mahabharata, Valmiki's Ramayan) and source of other civilization which speak of the past ancient Vedic (Aryas) civilization of 5,000 years ago and earlier.

Let's be reasonable when it comes the most abstruse science of God (wisdom), the ignorant (by repenting) and the wise (by austerity) can never reap the same rewards.

Yes, there is a war between science and religion

"Science without religion is lame........" Albert Einstein. Is Einstein and idiot or what? It is utter stupidity and highly prejudicial to declare science and religion to be incompatible when you haven't done honest inquiry into all religions.

Yes, there is a war between science and religion

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

Just remember, VJ, that your religion is no exception to the rule. If there's a war with religion, which there is, it's also with yours.

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

Vj ~ All I need to remember, you're a dumb ass who knows nothing of my religion and how it all began.

If there's a war with religion, which there is, it's also with yours.
Vj ~ I know, the war is between the "stupid" and "intelligent" and you know who they are. I'm bullet-proof protected by reason, science and natural laws.

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

Ha! Your bullet-proof with mythology. You’ve void of reason, science, and natural laws. And all you need to remember is that you refuse to answer my honest assertions, which makes you weak, stupid, and uneducated. How did your faith began? Who cares, if it’s not from god, nobody cares, much less myself.

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

Ha! Your bullet-proof with mythology.
Vj ~ How is it any different from being intelligent and full of doubts?

You’ve void of reason, science, and natural laws.
Vj ~ How is possible for an idiot who doesn't know the origin of morals, ethics, language and science know that?

which makes you weak, stupid, and uneducated.
Vj ~ And you think you're better off eh! Think again, my friend.
You're here -
"The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt." Bertrand Russell

and I'm here -
"Philosophy and reason will remain the most beautiful sanctuary they have always been for the select few." Einstein

How did your faith began?
Vj ~ The question you should ask, is why you see yourself as intelligent and still full of doubts.

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

I never said I am “cocksure” about anything. This is a trick challenge of yours, and yes, atheists are more intelligent than theists by a few points of the IQ, and then theists scratch their head and wonder why.

Am I full of doubts? Of course, I don’t have the arrogance to claim I know who the universe began, if there’s a purpose, and what happens after death. Of course I’m full of doubts, who couldn’t be, lest you are god? But sure you’re not, god wouldn’t be that stupid.

And yes, I think I can look through the historical record, and with the kwowledge of modern psychology, guess accurately the development of ethics, language, and science. You, however, have to explain how god made us, why he made us, and why he set up the natural laws the way he did, let alone allow sin, death, child suffering, and destruction to enter the world. If he’s a perfect loving god, what made him nearly wipe us all out 180,000 years ago? What was the point? And you willingly worship this being?

Why didn’t he make us have wings, and shove us in heaven immediately? Why did he allow evil regimes? I’m afraid you have a lot more to answer than I!

But go ahead, if it makes you feel better that you’re much smarter than me, fine. You live in a fairy tale anyway, no use being anymore realistic.

And don’t bother to answer my questions, like how Faith began, because you don’t have answers. God wasn’t nice to supply them, was he? Yet he cares who you sleep with, what you eat, and what you think. Where’s his end of the bargain? If I’m going to live by all that, I want some answers.

VJ, it’s alright, you don’t have to answer me, all you have to do is pray. So go sit and pray. Personally, I call it a waste of time. Imagine me, praying to my dog:

“Dear dog, thank you forgiving me life today, thank you for forgiving me my sins, for saving my loved ones, and I’m looking forward to eternal life. So I’ll be nice and scratch your back so you can scratch mine, here’s a doggy treat.”

That’s you, VJ, then you wonder why your Mom thought you an undeveloped child needing someone to feed him through life.

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

I don’t have the arrogance to claim I know
Vj ~ True, it is only when one has the wisdom such a claim can be made.

And you willingly worship this being? I’m afraid you have a lot more to answer than I!
Vj ~ Complaining won't help my friend. My answer is, follow me, when everything else fails, just follow instructions!

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

The cockiness of this guy proceeds him, "follow me." What are you now, god?

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

Vj ~ No, but I'm close, but if "cockiness" is an impediment for you right now, here is someone
closer.

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

Another religious nut. Spends all his time praying, then dies and finds out it was all for naught.

Re: Yes, there is a war between science and religion

Another religious nut.
Vj ~ Who was totally free of doubts.

Spends all his time praying,
Vj ~ If it is away of removing all doubts, it was worth the while, isn't it?

then dies and finds out it was all for naught.
Vj ~ That's you and Darwin, full of doubts!

His co-founder Dr. A. R. Wallace is better off.
One of the originators of the Physical Evolution Theory, was the first to strike down the Social Evolution Theory. He rightly affirmed that: "The Veda admittedly the oldest book in the library of mankind contains the essential teachings of the most advanced religious thinkers and is a vast system of religious teachings which are pure and lofty.”

He further wrote in “Social Environment and Moral Progress,” strongly refuting the social and moral evolution theory:
“In the earliest records which have come down to us from the past, we find ample indications that accepted standard of morality and the conduct resulting from these were in no degree inferior to those which prevail today, though in some respects, they were different from ours. The wonderful collection of hymns known as the Vedas are a vast system of religious teachings as pure and lofty as those of the finest portions of the Hebrew Scriptures. Its authors were fully our equals in their conception of the universe and the Deity expressed in the finest poetic language.”

“In it (Veda) we find many of the essential teachings of the most advance religious thinkers.” “We must admit that the mind which conceived and expressed in appropriate language, such ideas as are everywhere present in those Vedic hymns, could not have been inferior to those of the best of our religious teachers and poets to our Milton, Shakespeare and Tennyson.”
