KZ 1300 engine in Voyager 1300

Good evening
Just got an email from Noah Vance from Michigan as follows.

WE HAVE A 1987 VOYAGER 1300 THAT THE MOTOR IS BAD SO WE ARE PUTTING A 1980 KZ 1300 MOTOR WITH THE 19878 FUEL INJECTION. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THIS SWITCH?

If anyone has any ideas or help with this, please post here and I will insure they get it.

Re: KZ 1300 engine in Voyager 1300

RR-That's not a good idea. The KZ1300 engine was designed for the carbs that are run on it. Installing a Voyager 1300 F.I. setup on a KZ engine will not work unless the tech is willing to go to all of the extra expense of finding and installing the sensors and the DFI computer that are required to make the system work. It IS possible if you have a lot of mechanical and electronic knowhow, and access to a machine shop. You will also need to hunt up all of the parts that are required, and even then, I think that the throttlebodies that the injectors are mounted on will not mate to the KZ intake without some major machine work. If I was going to install a KZ engine in a Voyager 1300, I'd just use the KZ carbs. That would save a lot of trouble.
