For the first time in a long time, Mr. Hubert Hughes would be the most important candidate in Anguilla on the morning of February 22 2005. As one doesn’t need a rocket scientist prediction for this election, we predict an ANSA and United Front split, with both parties winning three seats at their best.
To be quite frank, the AUM party could very well be apart of the next government regardless to how much seats they win. If the United Front win three seats; namely: Victor, Bunton and Kenneth, and the ANSA win three; namely: Belto, Eddie and Ralph; then a Road South victory determines the outcome of this election. With a victory from Hubert, the outcome may be quite interesting. The answers would be long:
1. Would Hubert forgive his rival Banks to work with his friend Bunton? or
2. Would Hubert join the Anguilla United Front as Chief Minister in David’s face? or
3. Would Hubert join his former minister, Mr. Eddie Baird and, former PS, Mr. Ralph Hodge to form a new Front, or what they would call, I am sure, ‘The People’s Liberation Front’.
To be realistic, a two seat victory from the AUM namely: Hubert and Walcott, would make it even more interesting. Who would they team up with? What would be the new Front? The only guarantee for the Anguilla United Front’s Government to win this election is a victory in the Valley North constituency. Mr. Neil Roger’s victory is crucial to the life of the Anguilla United Front’s success. If Mr. Neil Rogers loses, Mr. Hubert Hughes could be back as Anguilla’s next Chief Minister.
But then again, would Eddie and Ralph prefer to work with Hubert or Victor? And what if Brent win?.......
….oh Belto, he would just follow.
If our government is a true and honest picture of what we are, and with all this political prostitution (ing) going on so publicly… it leaves our morals as a people to be question. No wonder why our rate of divorce is so high!
