Dougie Mac 112 mile ride
Just to clarify things the ride Bally, Skip, Smiler, Spider and myself are doing on Sunday is the Dougie Mac hospice charity ride to Llangollen and back which used to leave from the hospice in Trentham but this year is setting off from the mitch. Entry is £15 in advance, £20 on the day which all goes to the hospice and I think we're setting off about 7:30 a.m. all welcome to come along but this is a training ride, not a race! |

So does that mean you'll all start at the same time & finish together or is sprinting for the line allowed? regards Notop

Digger, I know they have 4 "water stops" along the route. Do they also give out food, or do you have to tkae your own for the whole ride? |

The ride sets off from Michelin Athletic Club Rose Tree Avenue S-o-T ST4-6NL There are water stations at Audlem Llangollen Wrenbury Wrinehill PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE WATER STATIONS NOT POWERBAR, GATORADE ETC. There are two back up vehicles carrying first aider, water and bike spares (best to carry your own spares and use the ones on the vehicle in cases of emergncy) At the finish Sandwiches, tea and CAKE Mark/Guy I'm going up to register today so will ask about the early registration and food questions |

p.s. Last year the ride raised £37,000 so get on your bikes There's also a 50 miler nantwich ride and a 10 mile local ride although the forecast is for rain on Saturday for Sunday S-o-T: Sunny, dry with cloud 20 deg. Llangollen: Sunny, dry with bit more cloud 18 deg. (but don't blame me if it lashes it down) |

registration on the day is 7am to 8.30am so Guy you'll have plenty of time to enrol on the day for a 7.30 kick off but the entry fee goes up to £20 The only food on the course is bananas at the water stations but there's a free picnic on return

Had a great day, didn’t realize how hot it was until we eventually stopped. I’m now wearing a Stafford Tri cycling suit suntan, it doesn’t look good in a pair of Speedos. Respect to Inspector Gadget, you seemed more set up for an expedition to the Himalayas than a hot ride to Wales and back.

cant be too careful! clouds come down quickly in them there Welsh hills. Always prudent to have a rucksack full of extra thermals and kendal mint cake!
