Bravenet is dead and abandoned -- so, why all the traffic?
Bravenet is completely dead and abandoned. There is no reply to any support tickets. There is no active phone number. There are major pieces of the site (even the traffic builder) that do not work. I am baffled at how Bravenet has so much traffic themselves. It is a freak of nature. "Build something broken and they will come..." What a joke Ciao, Brandon |

How could it be abandoned? I'm able to build, edit, publish etc |

Sure, some pieces can run automatically but the traffic exchange (and other pieces, I'm sure) are beginning to fall apart. The owners of Bravenet do not care and are not around to provide support. So, either the owners will get involved if the main web hosting goes down or that will be the final chapter to this saga. If that happens, all Bravenet users will be left with no website and no support. It's happened before with other similarly and poorly run companies. User beware. -Brandon |

If Bravenet is abandoned then Courtnie is the most effective piece of automated software that I have come across. And the way the automated software actually responds to tickets, you would really believe that a real person had handled the query! |

I don't use the free services and can only speak of the traffic exchange --which Bravenet obviously cares nothing about. If they support the web hosting part of it, then great. However, they shouldn't offer services that are completely broken and useless -if they can afford to fix it. It just makes them look bad. |

Big guess - your site doesn't have any traffic to begin with so you are getting zero credit on traffic exchange. The key word is EXCHANGE. |

Support tickets - all tickets get a response. If you have no reply the problem is at your end. Check your tickets on line. |

That's a bad guess there, Peter. My sites get quite a bit of traffic. The one I had intended to put into this traffic exchange is http://www.shrinktheweb.com. I'm sure it gets a lot more traffic than most of the sites that *WOULD BE* in the exchange --provided that it worked. For your information, you cannot even install the code. So, it's not my problem. Your condescending attitude coupled with the fact that you seem to know little about these things is wearing thin. Unless you have something helpful to contribute, I will probably not help you see the light in the future. Best of luck to you. -Brandon |

Also, if you sign up for professional hosting at lets say $9.67 or so a month, and if the site is dead, where does the fee go? |

ninapaints just forget brandon he is upset because they won't let his site become part of the traffic exchange program so he thinks everything is dead just ignore him and move on there are better things to do than listen to his rants and raves and more if you are happy with your service here good. Most are happy and there are some that are not so they just got to totally blow things out of proportion and more |

Since when did this become a flame thread? Nobody said my site wouldn't be "accepted" into the traffic exchange. I said the traffic exchange is "BROKEN"... there's a big difference. I'm not the only one who noticed. http://pub36.bravenet.com/forum/3067250515/show/815967 |

Thanks Candy. Hope you're right. I'd hate to lose my site. It was a lot of work to put together. and gotta admit, I learned a little about site building where before I knew zip.. so Bravenet, whether dead or not, was definitely useful to me.. I'd still like some traffic though... I never did figure out that side of it. I just refer people to it, like a business tool. |

Candy...could it be possible that you are Mr. Spaminator?? You copy his writing style perfectly...and only one, flaming post. I will report you in 3 days unless you somehow protect yourself. I don't understand how all other attempts have failed, but this time it won't. Don't try to hide your identity. I'm not saying I side with Brandon on this particular subject, but I don't like all the flaming that's going on and it had better stop soon!! PS. Thanks for your flaming contributions, "Candy". |

I'm a newbie here and had some difficulty getting my website transferred from an Australian host to Bravenet. I raised a ticket and it got sorted quickly & efficiently. You must have upset someone. |

Not really, I've never talked to anyone at Bravenet and have never opened a ticket. I only mention that it doesn't make sense to say they have a traffic exchange when you just get an error message trying to get the code. They should fix that error, but I'm not about to waste my time to help them fix it. That's all. ;) -Brandon |

All right, Candy. My mistake...although I'm still convinced. You type the same way, in the exact same manner. I Won't argue, though. |
