Walter H. says:
I understand that chapters and verses were added for a "convenience" such as Ephesians 3:11. Or else how many would know where to find "God's eternal purpose" or "Surely as I have thought" etc. without looking it up in a concordance. Being the simple and unlearned person that I am, I am very thankful for the labor of Robert Young. Isn't the context changed by the word(s) that are used? According to Robert Young parouse means "a being alongside, presence "and he renders Matt., 24:3 "-----and what is the sign of (T)thy presence-----" He also uses presence in the 21 other verses where parouse is used. Isn't there a difference between coming and presence? I have not "heard a mother say to their child. "Don't run in the church" ". But I have heard many "Christians" use the phrase "go to church" Some time ago my grandson told me he was a Christian I asked him how many times he thought the word, (name) was used in the Bible and said many. I was able to show him that it was used only three times. I wonder why Paul never addressed his letters to "the Christians" |
