the lack of 1st team players at training again!!!

allright then i may not be at training week in week out but when i do go i very rarely see a first team player there!!for instance just before easter the 2 final training sessions at truro college we ended up playing 6 aside football will al 2nd team players and one 1st team player in terry spargo!!!

then again 2nite training happened and again to the 2nd teams suprise there was not one single 1st team player training!!now yes i am one 2 moan but surely will any of us 2nd team players be given the chance 2 play regular 1st team action???because lets be honest the 2nd team have been playing hell of a well and there commitment to trainging should be rewarded with a game or two in higher league football...maybe we could improve the 1st team performances a bit you never know

Re: the lack of 1st team players at training again!!!

Tom in your reply about first team players not being at training. The problem that many of the first team players have is the commitments that they have to undertake because they are older than the majority of the first team, also quite a few of them work for the morgage group and because of this they do not finish work until 2000 hrs which means that they would not make training because of the light.

In the mean time what I would like to see is the second team lads learn form the session that are given. I do not mind a laugh as I feel this helps the team bond and also football is about mates and enjoyment, however, sometimes it goes over the top.

The reserve team lads should be proud that they are turning up week in and week out for training, it is alot easier for me as a manager to be able to orgainise the team and put across my points, so I am pleased that so many turn up at training especially as we now train twice a week.

Last night was a good session. Do not forget 1pm to 1.15pm on Saturday. In regards to the comment on going up to the first team I know that Phil is trying his utmost to give reserve players their chance to progrees throught the club.

All the best

Re: the lack of 1st team players at training again!!!

yo dudes. Dont know if tom is trying to get a reaction from the first team, but anyway i apologise for any unwanted stress caused to him for not making training yesterday.

Luffy is right most of the first team are much older than the seconds so have many more commitments outside of football be it work, children etc. I didnt make training cause i was spending time with my girlfriend (the first evening we have had on our own for a month or so cause me old dear could look after my little girl and i didnt have to work).

Also I hadnt realised the first performances had been so bad recently, they have made it to a cup final and sit comfortably in 2nd place in the league and have only dropped 10points over the hole season.

Admittedly the first team turn out has been poor in regards to training that is a fact. But it is not always as simple as just not turning up.

Over the season some of the 2nd team have been given chances in the firsts but this late in the season there is no point in disrupting the 2nd team by bringing them upto the firsts when the 2nds have a very good chance of winning the league. If there is going to be any first teamers replaced by the 2nds then this will surely happen during the start of next season.

Re: the lack of 1st team players at training again!!!

i have to agree with tom here its abit annoying turning up week in week out and there being hardly anyone at training i understand alot of people have commitments but surely not all 13 or so players have?

and whats the betting that there will be 13 players with out commitments when its final day?

im not trying to wind people up as usual was just a tad anoyed at the poor turn out

Re: the lack of 1st team players at training again!!!

again ive gotta agree with patty here, as much as i appreciate that you all have commitments, i'm not sayin you don't, it's just as soon as theres a cup final to appear at that you can all turn up and be available. i'm still neutral though as i don;t even train and my excuse is due to travel commitments as if i trained it would cost me £7.20 and wouldn't get home til 10 past 11. love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: the lack of 1st team players at training again!!!

Based on the use of grammer and spelling in some of your recent posts.

With promotion in the bag, don't bother with training anymore, sign up for some English night classes instead!

My favourite recently.... Liam to Jase.... "anyway mate hows life on the doll?"

Now either he is unemployed and you were asking how he is spending his days? Or you were implying he has an inflatable girlfriend/boyfriend/sheep etc!

In all seriousness though guys, you second teamers have done a hell of a job this season and I am looking forward to the end of season 1st v 2nd's as it should be a hell of a game. As already mentioned with both teams pushing top table places it would be suicide to mess with the team line ups at this stage.

As you get older (as the majority of the 1st teamers have)your priority's change, it's not all about playing footy - shagging - and playing on the playstation/Wi (unless your EJ and Ten Legs!). Making every Saturday is a committment in itself and sometimes making training as well is just pushing the boat too far.

For the past few seasons the 1st team has virtually picked itself, but with the 2nd team playing so well I am sure the Management Team will be looking closely at what their best 11 will be. Best thing you can do is keep training and keep impressing.
