i believe that the tms under 16's r rubbish and that why i left and went to play 4 truro under 18's cus there a proper side and actually can play football unlike u lot, they also have a good manager aswell ej. i must say aswell though congrats 2 the 1st team 4 winning mining league 1 even though it is a rubbish league, im playing falmouth and helston division 3 or 2 next year and we could easily take u chumps apart. |

Truro City U18's a proper side?!?  Thats why they couldnt even finish the season; they pulled out of the league!Also have you ever watched a FHFL 3 or 2 game? I assure you the standard is significantly below that played by the Mining 1 teams. Thirdly, how can you call a team that reached the semi-finals of the U16's County cup rubbish? I believe Truro City U18's only reached the second round and that was purely because their First Round opponents withdrew from the cup. |

dear tom the only reason we got knocked out of the cup in the 2nd round is because of a cheating ref and lino, we would of got further but people dont like what the senior sides are doing so we get the backlash for it in r youth games. And i can also reassure you that fhfl 3 or 2 is alot better than mining 1 that you chumps play in as you just hoof it forward whereas we can play proper football unlike you losers. all the truro teams are better than your stupid little village teams and im glad i left u bunch of pathetic losers |

Dear Atkin, how can you lose 3-0 and claim that the ref and linesman singlehandedly cost you the game? Mullion were always gonna beat you! You would have finished bottom of the Kernow League had you not had to pull out? Not very proffessional that is it?! I really doubt you have ever watched a Mining League Division 1 football match if you really honestly believe that the likes of Frogpool Cusgarne first team and Cury and Lizard Argyle could beat Threemilestone! Your the only loser around here anyway posting such silly opinions on this forum!! |

dear tom i want to know why are you sticking up for the first team if you are just a stupid little 2nd teamer, i could understand you if the 1sts supported your team and helped you lot out instead of letting you finish 4th bottom in mining 3 you chump. And if you wanna get serious me n my carharrack boys will take you down either on the pitch or on the streets if you get what im saying you completely and utter chump! |

will both of you grow up and get back to your lessons! I don't mind a debate on the footballing merits of any of your particular teams, but if this continues along the lines of a personal slanging match then I will remove the post.

I have read with much interest stories re TCFC under 18's. As the ex manager, i would like to confirm that I withdrew the side from the league as there was no support from Truro itself, and the lads many of whom were good players were struggling against, the sides who played combo and s/western players. As with regards to EJ his managerial skills are second to none, and having seen him manage a side my son once played in I found him to be a fair and just manager. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Best of luck to both Tom and Jamie for the forthcoming season - whatever team you play for. Football is to be enjoyed not bickered over. |

Sorry to see that this thread has become a slanging match. That was unfortuante. Im withdrawing myself from this discussion now, jamie, just let the football do the talking ok, im not gonna get into a war of words. But just to put you straight, I wasnt sticking up for the 1st team, I think their season does that for them. I was just commenting that FHFL2/3 are not as good as Mining 1. Good luck to you next season. Alison I can understand your reasons for withdrawing from the league. May I just congratulate your efforts while playing against some very high level footballers. I was very impressed with the attitude your team displayed when they played against us! Good luck next season, whatever you are doing

i beg to difer reference the quality of football in the mining league and falmoth helston leagues. I think if you took the top 5 teams from each division one league and put them together i think you would have a very close league for top place. If only the two leagues sorted out their differences and do whats been talked about for years now and that is to combine the 2 leagues and set up a pyramid system then we would see who was top and like i said there would be a fair few of mining leagues sides holding their own at the top!!!!!!

I am still hearing rumours around that FHFL and the Mining League may be combining in the next few years. As it is there are matches between select sides from each of the leagues coming up in January!! |

i agree with boasey i watch truro city 3rds play most weeks and i honesty reckon they wuld proberaly come close 2 winning the mining league and they are only fh 2 cheeers patty |

Mate I played againest Truro 3rds this year and well I would hate to burst your bubble but I don't think they would, yes I will agree they are not the worst side I have come across, but they would struggle to make any impact in Mining 1 currently. Although I'm sure in a few years time they will attract better players, although I would like to state that YP is excellent and should be called on and groomed by the more senior sides at Truro. Lets not forget they TMS 1st played against the cream of the Falmouth Helston 1 last year and yes they lost 1-0 it was a close game only settled by an early own goal. |

now ian peters has gone there team has completely changed theyve got plymouth youth players and loads of former swl players and are attracting good players already and i bet if you played them now it wuld b a much tougher game cheers patty |

So what you are saying is that the side that got Truro 3rds into falmouth and Helston 2 was not good enough dispite winning the FH 3 and cup last year, and have since been replaced by Plymouth youth and X SWL players, so therefore its not really a FH league2 side. Lets face it with Truro's resources they should win any league in Cornwall, whether Mining League, Falmouth and Helston, Combination and SWL so it does not add wait to your claim that a FHL 2 side could win Mining 1. In fact only goes as far as to state that Truro is going to dominate local football, which lets face it they should, but have yet to do. I think personally that it will be great if Truro can fully realise there dreams and rise through the leagues and share this with the local community in a simular way the the Cornish Pirates. The debate of which league is better the FHL or the Mining League has been raging for many years. The ML is in my view a very physical league where you do not get alot of space, whilst the FHL teams let you play with more space therefore the football is probably more flowing. This debate will soon be put to bed as I understand that within two seasons the leagues will be amalgamated with the top 8 teams in the first division either making up a new first or a premiere. In regards to FHL DIV 2 it is probably fair to say that the top 3 or 4 teams in the league could hold their own in the first division to the mining league and probably in their own set up as well, this can be said of most league sides who finish near the top,however it always depends on the players in the following season. The comments about Truro City 3 rds being a decent team is a fair shout, but makes me laugh a little is that they are about the only club at this level who could lose a team on the Friday and completly resign a team on for their game on Tuesday. I would not think that any other club at that level would have been able to fulfill their fixtures, then again I would not be 100% if the powers that be would let any other club do such a thing. In regards to promotion I am not sure if the fourth placed team is going to be taken up, I know that Mawnan can not be promoted due to having a first team in FHL1 and it looks like they will promote the second and third placed teams who will be The Lizard and Trispen as they can not be caught by anyone below them. It will be interesting to see if any further teams will be taken up as I understand their is going to be a slight reshuffle of division 1. Well done to TMS for such a great year, it good to see smaller clubs have some of the success for once. |
