Subject:   The Real Homerun

Message:   This past week 7 homeruns were hit by 5 different players; all of which cleared the fence. Three were even hit back to back to back.

But when you hear that there was seven homeruns automatically you think of errors and victor running around the bases laughing foolishly.

Victor was not one of the people to go deep however. He claims it is because he is a "line-drive hitter" but perhaps there is another reason. Does Victor have what it takes to be a real homerun hitter? We have seen him hit the ball hard but does he have the ability to go yard in the clutch? If we played with a fence everyweek would he still try to pray on the inexperience of the rightfielder?

Victor flopped in the homerun derby. His 3 longballs in the first round were good enough to tie him for last and elimate him after only thirteen swings.

Meanwhile Paul Dispensa was able to go deep during Sunday's game as well as send a few more to the warning track. He had an excellent showing in the homerun derby knocking double digits out of the park in the first round. Yet this week was his first homerun.

Maybe we should play on a field with a fence in the outfield everyweek. Maybe that would keep the homeruns more honest, and in the hands of the more deserving.
