Lazurus Eat your heart out!
Lazurus Eat your heart out. It was either a miracle or perhaps an indicator that maybe Jesus was in fact a soul brother, because it might explain the old “Drop your crutches, and get up and walk” biblical fable. At Pizza on the Park on December 15th Ola was again at his sublime best. The acoustics aren’t ideal but that doesn’t stop the groove permeating the soul. At one of the larger table of party goers sat a young woman, who had recently undergone a hip operation. She arrived, rather gingerly on crutches, and under doctor’s orders was confined to her chair. But I don’t know if it was alcohol or morphine which clouded the pain, my suspicion is that when the groove is that good, it infiltrates the very fibre of your being with the feel good factor, which transcends all other senses. It started with subtle movements, as the rhythm took hold, then progressed to a sort of seated St Vitus Dance, with jigging and bouncing to the beat. Slowly she eased herself onto her crutches in order to give more freedom to her boogie buttons. Before the night was out, the crutches had been discarded and the groove had subsumed her being as she joined the dancing throng. Alleluia it’s a miracle – and the lame shall walk. Miracle worker or just groove Doctor who knows – but Ola Onabule will be available under the National Health at a surgery near you soon. HAPPY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!
