Tunes I am Listening To This Month
Well, this month, I've been doing a whole lot of music listening.. Gretchen Lieberum's been taking away a lot of my time with her new Siren Songs cd. Loving that "You Closer" tune. Lambert Hendricks and Ross's "Moaning" has been playing back to back on my playlist. Loving that tune...especially now that life's sprouting all these troubles all over the place. Seatbelts - Yoko Kanno's group of fiesty ear carnage has been impressing me for like 4 years straight. "The Real man's" the tune to look out for. Herbie Hancock ft. John Mayer. That tune "Stitched Up" actually got me giggling on first listening...really nice. Herbie does some really impressive bar-work on this tune. Van Hunt's tune would always get me feeling like now was the time for romance, but I'll be honest, I'm not sure exactly what he's saying on that track, but I still love it to death..."Down here in Hell (with you)" Kurt Elling: Been listening to my old elling cds again in preparation for his show last weekend. A shame I missed it. "Minuano" is still an amazing song. 6 billion plays later. Ola: hehe...f'real, I've been listening to "Stay Here Forever" more a lot lately. What a truely beautiful song...especially for those who're in love Kem: From the moment I heard the cd, it was my favorite....two years later, it still is. "Inside" off of the Kemistry album Raul Midon's songs have got much much sense to them, and besides the fact that he sometimes reminds me of Ola's sounds, he's got a really soulful thing going on...so I've been really liking "All in your mind" Donnie's cd's really impressive. Love that tune "Rocketship", coz I can really relate to it right now. |

Yo Dadaddyman Dude! You wouldn’t be American would you? If so, hope you managed to see Ola whilst he’s been over there – you take care of that big man & his band for us all. Thanks so much for sharing these with us. Not heard of any of them….until now….looking forward to looking further into them. Just looked up Raul Midon and he’s exactly what I like listening to – it’s that guitar thing! Sounds so good. Sneaked a preview of his Kennedy Ctr performance – his guitar style reminded me of Jon Gomm whose DVD I’ve seen recently – almost classically flamenco with a latino/funk feel and a soulful voice, which I like. Last weekend I saw Ricky Martin on TV - live in New York with Carlos Santana and Jose Feliciano (I’m eagerly awaiting Ricky’s new CD). Really enjoyed watching it. Add to this, Raul, Gloria Estefan and Ola providing the Soul and it’s my idea of heaven….. Cheers TC
