reiki attunement
I was questioned the other day by someone who said "if reiki is >universal life force energy - why then do we have to be attuned to it.?" Could >you answer this for me. thank you for your courtesy. Judith |

Hello Judith,  We are inherently divine creations, endowed with all the qualities and powers of the Universal Spirit. So why then spend hours in a lifetime dedicated to spiritual practice, healing, personal development? Isn't it inherent? We have the ability to self-heal. So why are there so many terminal illnesses and psychological problems that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to treat? As divine beings we are inherently peaceful. So why do have a gigantic trail of war in our history, and still insist on it today? With all of our built-in potential, how many of us can truly feel spiritual energy, lifeforce, the energy behind each mindbody distortion, the energy behind each conflict? Do we understand energy, so seduced by the physical world and the senses we've been given to interpret it? Yes lifeforce is universal and in everything. Can we see it, hold it, play with it or are we stuck in traffic, worried about finances, preoccupied with anger or grief? Usui Sensei found a way to help all of us tangibly interact with spiritual energy. This is a gift that is often missed. The Reiki practitioner can experience this pervasive yet subtle energy right in his/her hands (not to mention their being) and the client can too when receiving. This is mind blowing! I think we take it for granted. The Reiki attunement allows permanent, solid access to spiritual energy, no matter what stage of development we may be in. We can experience and pass on this energy even with a cold, feeling tired or depressed. If we were left to our own devices, concentration, ability to tune in...I don't think results would be consistent or effective. The attunement guarantees a certain dosage of power and purity, bypassing the human so we can lift misery in ourselves and others. Enhancing, expanding, strengthening what's given in the training/attunement is the personal, spiritual practice of Reiki. The attunement is a jump-start, and we DO need it blocked as we are. The rest comes with daily practice. Practice is all-important. I'd be curious to read any responses to this. |

Very interesting point. I believe we all have the ability to heal ourselves and others, but it is something that is deep inside us, forgotten. We also know the alphabet, but we are not all creative and practiced enough to be bok writers. We may be familiar with the musical notes, but very few of us become compositors. The creative gifts that we have must be practiced and developed with a lot of concentration. It has been said that we only use some 10-20 % of our mindīs capacity in our daily lifes. To use more of this capacity we have to clear our minds, be able to communicate with our inner selves to find our true meaning.
