Hi everybody,
I just wanted to say, like Chris that I had a great time at the reunion. It was great to see everybody and talk to you. I tried to get around to everyone but if I missed you it wasn't intentional. Sorry I couldn't make it to Welches with the kids, Scheduling conflicts kept me from going. For those of you who couldn't make it you were missed and for those of you who wouldn't make it you missed out, especially if it was because you were afraid of what people would say or a conflict from way back when. It didn't matter if you were the most poular or the biggest dork(I know what category I was in), that's not what it was about, it was about seeing some old friends and catching up. Sure you saw some of the old groups getting together and reminicing, but I also saw people getting together and talking that would have barely said hi to each other back then it was great to see that. I was bummed when I heard that some people didn't come because they felt different or were afraid of what people would say or had conflicts back then and hated school. Two things happen in the twenty years since graduation you get older and you get more mature, you can't help the first but hopefully you get the last. When I read Norm's post it made me sad to think he felt that way because I would have liked to have seen him too. Who didn't feel different or have conflicts with someone back then. High school isn't an easy time and we all instigated those feelings towards someone else, myself included. That's why hopefully with that maturity comes the ability to forgive and forget and be forgiven. Think about it we've all known each other at least twenty years some of us even longer from grade school and starting out at LaSalle(I've known Norm for a least 25 years). Who wouldn't want the opportunity to see an old friend and catch up even if it is every ten years especially if that's the only chance you get. I consider all of you my friends and I hope you feel the same toward me, so whenever the next reunion is(barring any unforseen problems) I plan on being there too, whether it's in five or ten years. In the mean time I plan on doing the best I can on keeping in touch with people, hey we all gave our E-mails for a reason, and I hope other people will do the same. I didn't mean to get up on a soap box and this was not aimed at anyone in particular it is for everyone to take from it what resonates with them, so sorry if I offended anyone that was not my intention. Life is to short and as we get older it gets shorter and opportunities may unexpectedly disappear so Take advantage while you can. That's what it's all about. So with that said I will take my soap box and go home.
