Vintage P90s
Hello. I love the feel and playability of my new Blues Hawk, but want to get further away from my main guitar, and Tele. I was told that adding vintage Gibson P90s or other brand like Lindy Fralin, will warm up the tone and make it more distinguishable from the Tele. Has anyone tried this? Any opinions? Thanks |

I recently put a pair of Epi P-90's in my Blueshawk. Found the really cheap on Craigslist. I was on the verge of selling the BH, so I figured I would try it out. The difference was astonishing. The BH snarls and sings like it's supposed to. I know a lot of guys like the Blues 90's, but they were just not for me. I really disliked the BH with the Blues 90's. Even with the cheap Epi P-90's, the guitar is a keeper. However, your results may vary. If you want to experiment, why not try a pair of GFS P-90's? I've not used them myself, but the generally get good reviews. I was planning on getting a set before I found the Epi's. |
