My Heart Will Go On.

This morning I woke early at 5 am and heard the sound of bird song. The sound of birds singing always reminds me of Mike and makes me smile. That may sound strange, but, it's a long story and maybe I'll share it with everyone one day.

I felt a little sad remembering Mike this morning though, thinking how much I wanted to tell and ask him and didn't get the chance. Then a tune came into my head distracting me from my sorrow 'My Heart Will Go On', the song sung by Celine Dion.

Listening to the song on CD ended my sorrow. The words especially 'You're here in my heart and my heart will go on and on' made me remember as long as I or anyone remembers Mike, he's with us forever!

Over the last two years I've been lucky enough to have been in contact with many of Mike's friends and fans. The loss of Mike hit so many people and it was a comfort for me to know he had so many friends and fans who had the pleasure of being in contact with him and getting to know him. Some were lucky enough to have known him for many years. Many, like me, were fortunate to have gotten to know him relatively recently, those who met him in person once or twice, those who have had the pleasure of being in contact by email or on the message board on his web site or know him just through his work.

Mike will live on with us forever. I will miss him for as long as I remember him, but, I thank him for that beautiful gift he gave to me of living to remember him.

Re: My Heart Will Go On.

Hi Ce Ce,

When I read your post I found it so touching.
I myself never got the opportunity to meet Mike but I so wish that I had and feel so sad that now it is impossible.
You are so lucky to have been involved in Mike's life and it shows through how proud you are of that fact and for that fact I envy you.

Like you I think of Mike often and feel so bad that he is no longer with us.

Best wishes,

Sue xx

Re: My Heart Will Go On.

Hi Sue,

Thank you for your reply and sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner, but, when I read your reply it did make me sad and when I’m sad I find it difficult to write! That might be a good thing, no indulging in self-pity.

When I heard the sad news about Mike, my first thought was for the number of people who’d not had the opportunity to meet him, especially those I knew were looking forward to meeting him for the first time in September 2005 at the Fanderson Convention.

I really love hearing about other fans experiences of meeting Mike, or being in contact with him. I‘m thinking it may be a little guilt thing, I don’t know, but when we receive an email, message in the guest book, message board or guest map it makes me happy to think Mike touched the life of another person. Although, when I read someone say they never had the opportunity to meet Mike, I have to thank the people who dragged to the NEC in April 2004, looking a real sight , for my first precious meeting with my hero, the most beautiful man in the universe.
