Belated sorrow
Hello UFO was my favourite TV show as a six year old - this year I will be 41. My wife bought the DVD box set for me last Christmas and I lazily browsed the web today to see what the actors are doing now. I was very sorry to see that Michael Billington passed away last year. May I send my best wishes to all Michael's family and friends. Andy Davies |

Can I just add my own sorrow to this? I only just found out about Mike and Ed Bishop. Such a shame to lose such a couple of talents both before their time and both so close together. I really must do a trawl and see some of Mike's other work, but Paul Foster really lit my 9 year old candle ;) UFO was a great show, in the great tradition of Century 21. I'm loving the reruns (when my kids will let me!) Many condolences to their families and friends. |

i would liketo say , i grew up with the gerry anderson programs and there was non better that ufo and michael wasone of the best actors i have seen , he will be sadly missed |

Yep, I too am soooooo enjoying the UFO re-runs on ITV4 and thought that I'd google a few of the actors names, and so stumbled upon the sad news about Michael Billington and Ed Bishop. I was about 7 years old when UFO first aired and I was totally hooked from the start. And I'm still hooked. The whole show, plus the performances of the actors (Billington, Bishop, Drake, Sewell, Ventham) is just so incredibly iconic in every way. And Mike was such TOTAL eye-candy !! On Mike's official site, it is really pleasing to read his memories of the show. Well... he'll be our 'beautiful dreamer' 4ever now... what a great British acting icon. |
